Priests, Saints and Scorpions!

Yes. I have seen all three things this week! Well, maybe not the Saint. I did watch a television show about Mother Teresa. And of course, I talked to my good friend Sarah. She will be a saint, I'm sure!

This last Sunday, our new priest,Father Joe, was installed as our pastor. I've never seen a ceremony like this and it was very nice. He promised to take care of us and we promised to support him. This was important because we need to be reminded that he is our Priest. Our Pastor. We need to support him so that he can take care of us. Two way street. He's not only a good priest, he's super funny and we are very blessed to have him as our pastor.

So I talked about the saints already..Mother Teresa, Sarah..we are all called to be one! Today is the Feast of All Saints. It's a Holy Day of Obligation. Which means get to Mass today. Make the time. It's important. We celebrate our Church today! Sometimes, at Mass, I can almost see the Saints in Heaven celebrating with us. A good friend and teacher said, there is a thin veil between us and Heaven. It's hard to see through for us. Sometimes it clears..and we can see. The Sanctus is what brings this home for me.

Now for the part you've been waiting for! Scorpions? Yep. Scorpion, to be exact. Just one. Small, but frightening still. In my school room. I though the kids were joking. I was just at the computer entering in grades..I was just sitting there. My BARE FOOT was just where that dern creature is crawling right now!!! We got a jar, the kids had a good look, then promptly left him on the porch...in the jar. He didn't make the overnight temps. I'm not sad. I don't EVER want to see one of those again! Scary.

Off to teach some drama..20 kids..a Christmas production! Busy Busy!

Interesting book...I purchased and beat twice the game Batman: Arkham Asylum for PS3...awesome game...beat it once on normal, then again on hard...now i just have to solve the riddles...it's weird posting again...seeing as I haven't posted sonce august last year, but i guess i always would come back eventually. well, that's kind of what I can think of at the moment. until next time,

Randon Post...Again

This is just another random post. I just hot the lates tobyMac album, "Tonight." Pretty good music. My mom finally said I can get a Facebook. I'ts gonna be created sometime tomorrow. I just got the album "Waking Up" by OneRepublic for my iPod. I'm gonna get the 2010 Grammy Nominees for it too. My brother is standing right behind me, staring at the screen my sister is watching. I watched the movie "A series of Unforturnate Events" yesterday. Books were so much better than the movie. Today is Friday, and my 5th school day. I'm trying to find a clean version of "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas, but I'm kinds having trouble. If any of you know where to find a clean version of the song, please comment where I could find it. I'm taking Geometry this year. If you don't know, I'm in 11th grade this year. only two years, and then college. I plan to attend Fransiscan University. I'm learning about Cortes and Magellan in my American History book. I'm listening to "Showstopper" by tobyMac. I only have a couple of things to do and then I have Eagle Scout. I just have to get my application approved, get my Board of Review, and then I'm an Eagle. I really want to play some pinball right now. I'm like the best windows Space Cadet Pinball game player in my family. I got like 3,000,000 points once. My mom just enetered the room because my sister is showing her something on the computer. I got up this morning at around 5:30 and had to go to the bathroom, could'nt go back to sleep, so I sat there for about a half hour, and decided to get up, took a shower, and went downstairs. Turns out, my sister got up at 5 because she had a dream that she woke up last, and had to clean the bathroom. Our rule is that whoever wakes up last, they have to do a small little cleaning session in the bathroom. I always get up first, I wake up at like 6:30, and I always have enough energy for the day. I'm wierd like that. I can stay up all night, sleep for like 4 hours, and wake up with enough energy for the day. Maybe I should see a doctor for that. I was playing Band Hero yesterday, I played one song, then my dad said I had to pick some stuff up in the school room. I put down the guitar controller, and when I came back, my brother picked it up and started playing. I was kinds cheesed off, but, I decided to go in the other room and watch tv. Last night, I made dinner and dessert. In the afternoon, I made a key lime pie. I really don't care to much for it, but everyone else liked it, and I made burgers and fries. I made Bacon Cheddar burgers, and Pizza Burgers (I got that recipe from Fr. Leo Patalinghug). Everyone liked it. I guess I can make a mean burger. I learned a couple of days ago that the world will NOT end in 2012. Sorry to all you paranoid people who went through the trouble of preparing yourselves for nothing. Historians say that the Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end in 2012, but it's just a misinterpretation. Besides, my grandma says that anyone who can tell you when the word is going to end is wrong, because only God knows, and he didn't tell anyone when it would be did He? I didn't think so. I had a wierd dream last night where my friends and I went to Orlando, and there was nothing ther, so we just stood there staring at each other. Then, some guy came up to me and asked me where Orlando was. I told him that it was here, but he just went away, asking where Orlando was. It was wierd. I need to go to Barnes & Noble so I can the next book in the "Fate of the Jedi" series. Well, that's it for this random post. Until next time, faithful readers.

inFAMOUS

I haven't played this game yet, but it looks promising. Created by Sony Computer Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions, "inFAMOUS" is an action/sandbox game that will entertain gamers for quite a while. The game takes place in Empire City, which is spread out across three islands: the Neon District, where most of the business and entertainment areas are located; the Warren District, which sends and receives goods in and out of the city (it is also the biggest of the three islands); and the Historical District (the smallest of the three). IN the beginning of the game, six blocks of the Historical District are wiped out by an explosion from a bio-electric device known as the Ray Sphere. Soon after, a plague develops, forcing the government to quarantine the region. In doing so, they block the only bridge into the mainland, isolating the island and bringing about a societal collapse. Cole McGrath, a courier in Empire City, had been assigned to deliver a package to the Historical District, and then open it. Unbeknownst to Cole, the package contains, you guessed it: the Ray Sphere. Cole is then discovered and nursed back to health by Trish, a medical student and Cole's girlfriend, but she rejects him after accusing him of her sister's death. Cole then makes the astonishing discovery that he has electric powers. Soon, a DJ by the name of "The Voice of Survival" pinpoints Cole at the center of the explosion, and turns the city against him. Along with fellow courier and best friend Zeke, Cole tries to escape the quarantine, but is overwhelmed by FBI agents. During his arrest, a high government official named Moya convinces Cole to return and find the Ray Sphere and her husband John in exchange for Cole's release from quarantine. Cole then goes out to complete Moya's missions, restoring power to the city to fight off the various gangs, including the Reapers, that have taken over the city. He soon comes into contact with Sasha, Alden, and Kessler, who all have powers like him, and who are the leaders of the three gangs. Sasha has the abilty to take over minds with a tar-like substance. She is also a scorned lover who tries to win Cole over, and she is also the leader of the Reapers in the Neon District. Alden is an old man who can use the power of telekenesis, and is the leader of the Dustman gang in the Warren District, who fight the First Sons out of the Historical District. Kessler, who has many super powers, controls the First Sons, and uses them to seek out Cole and the Ray Sphere. As he meets these three, he learns that Kessler had displaced Alden from the leader of the First Sons, and initiated the contrustion of the Ray Sphere, while rejecting Sasha's attempts for romance. Cole manages to defeat Sasha and capture Alden, but during a breakout attempt by the Dustman gang, Zeke's own heroism allows Alden to escape, much to Cole's irritation. They soon catch up to Alden, who has found the Ray Sphere, and Cole distracts him long enough for Zeke to recover it. Zeke is then cought between Alden and Kessler, and then realizes that he could gain powers, too, from the Ray Sphere, and then activates it. Nothing happens, and Kessler finds out what went wrong. he then offers Zeke tremendous powers in exchange for the Ray Sphere, and zeke agrees and leaves with Kessler, taking the Sphere with him. Cole then tracks down John, but learn's that John is neither Moya's husband or from the FBI, but is an undercover agent for the NSA who assisted in the creation of the Ray Sphere. John then explains that the Ray Sphere collects the bio-energy from those around it and transfers the power to the person holding it, giving the holder amazing powers at the cost of thousands of lives. John urges Cole to find it and destroy it, while Alden goes on a killing spree heading into the Historical District. After a lengthy battle, Alden is defeated and jumps off a bridge. During the battle, however, Alden destroyed giant parts of the bridge. Cut off from the Warren District, Cole heads into the Historical District in his search, and finds out that Kessler has kidnapped Trish, along with six other doctors. Kessler then forces Cole to choose between saving Trish or the doctors. Either way, Kessler has arranged for Trish to fall to her death, but is briefly revived by Cole. This is the first "Good Karma/Bad Karma" situation. If the player has good karma, Trish will profess her love to him as she dies. If the player had bad karma, she will curse Cole's name with her dying breath. after mourning his loss, Cole and John work together to find the Ray Sphere. The player can opt to destrot it or use it to enhance Cole's powers, but either way, the Sphere malfunctions and disintergrates John. Cole then goes to meet Kessler at the blast crater of the original explosion. As they fight, Zeke interferes and is thrown aside by Kessler. Eventually, Cole manages to mortally wound Kessler, and then goes to seek answers of Trish's death from him. With his last actions, Kessler implants memories into Cole's mind. It turns out that Kessler is actually a version of Cole from the future in an alternate timeline. Cole (as Kessler) and Trish were happily married with children, but an entity called "The Beast" plunged their world into chaos. Kessler and Trish fled with their children rather than fight, but The Beast cought up with him and killed his family. Kessler then decided the only solution was to use his powers to go back in time and prepare Cole for the upcoming battle with The Beast. kessler seized control of the First Sons from Alden, shunning Sasha's advances becasue of his past love for Trish, and ordered the construction of the Ray Sphere much earlier in his timeline. Kessler was also the anonymous source that instructed Cole to open the package and activate the Ray Sphere. He used Trish's death as a means of preparing Cole for the harsh choices he would have to make when fighting The Beast. After Kessler dies, Cole declares his hatred for Kessler, and says "When the time comes, I'll be ready." This is the final Good Karma/Bad Karma situation. If the player has good karma, Empire City will continue to rebuild, all the while idolizing Cole as its savior. If the player has bad karma, Empire City will fall into chaos, and Cole will laugh at the thought of using his powerrs to destroy The Beast. Sounds pretty good? Then go out and play it! Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

So far, this is the only Prince of Persia game I've played, but its a keeper. Released in 2003 by Ubisoft, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" takes you back to ancient Persia and tells you a tale like none which you have ever heard before. The game starts with something unusual. The Prince enters the chambers of the Princess of India, and starts to tell a story. The story begins with his telling of the Maharajah's Vizier helping King Sharhaman and his son, the Prince, to perform a raid on the city. In the middle of the battle, the Vizier comes to the King and tells him of the Maharjah's treasure vaults. The Prince then rides forth, and is thrown from his horse as a building crumbles over him. He wakes up, separated from his father and the Vizier, and starts to wrok his way around the city. This is where the real gaming begins. Right away, any gaming expert would know that this was meant to be a 3D Platform game. The game focuses mainly on acrobatics and agility. The Prince makes his way around everywhere running on walls, sliding down ladders, and ascending and descending chasms by jumping from wall to wall. The Battling has a great deal to do with acrobatics as well. The Prince has a variety of moves, such as jumping from a wall to hit a target precisely, or he can vault over an enemy's back, killing them in two blows. Anyway, the Prince makes his way to the treasure vaults, and there it is: the Dagger of Time. This is the ultimate prize. Once he makes his way to the Dagger of Time, he sets off a booby trap that drops a goant block of stone onto him. In his surprise, he accidenty activates a trigger on the Dagger's handle, turning back time, before the block drops on him. He gets out of the way, and starts to make his way out. He realizes that the booby tarp is making the whole vault fall apart. He soon escapes, and rejoins his father and the Vizier in another treasure vault which contains the Hourglass of Time, which contains the Sands of Time. The Vizier mentions to the King that they had a deal that the Vizier ciuld have his choice of anything in the Maharajah;s treasuer vaults, and demanded the Dagger. The King refuses, saying that the Prince should keep it as a souvenir of his first battle. The Vizier, seeing this disappointment, is about to claim he Hourglass, when the King says it will be transported to his friend the Sultan of Azad. It is then shown that the Princess is actually part of the story, and if cought eavesdropping, and is captured. Once in the city of Azad, King Sharhaman presents the Sultan with the Hourglass. After the Sultan inquires about it, the Vizier comes forth to explain it. He explains that only the Dagger of Time can unlock the Hourglass, and the secrets within, and tricks the Prince into opening the Hourglass. Once the Hourglass is opened the sands escape, and ravage the Sultans kingdom, infecting everyone with the sand, and turning them into monsters. Only the Vizier, the Prince, and the Princess are spared thanks to three items that keep them safe: the Vizier's staff, the Prince's Dagger, and the Princess' Amulet. The Vizier escapes, taking the Hourglass, leaving the Prince to fend for himself. This is where the intesity begins. The Prince fights his way through the temple, defeating the Sand Creatures by stabbing them with the Dagger of Time and retrieving the Sand from them. He soon meets up with the Princess, who reveals her name as Farah, and the two untrustingly help each other. Farah proves herself as a good archer, and covers the Prince in some battles. They decide to split up, and after awhile, the Prince ecounters farah in the Great Hall, fighting off Sand Creatures, which the Prince horrifingly identifies one as his father. The Prince defeats the Sand Creatures, and also defeats his father, after which the Prince and Farah make a pact to trust each other and to band together. After each battle, a portal opens, which the Prince walks into and is given a vision of the future. Each vision is a save point, allowing the player to save his/her progress if need be. As the Prince and Farah continue to make their way through the kingdom, the Prince starts to feel an odd attraction to the girl at his side. Even though they do argue at points, he can't resist that her company his pleasurable. After much fighting, wall climbing, and vision seeing, the Prince and Farah make it t the Tower of Dawn, where the Hourglass is being kept, and run into some Sand Creatures, after the battle, the Prince blacks out, and is reawakened again, after Farah had revealed her feeling towards him. As they reach the Hourglass, Farah explains that to stop the sands, he must plunge the Dagger into a dome on the Hourglass' topside. The Prince strangely does not trust her and hesitates, but at that monet the Vizier enters, and traps Farah and the Prince in a tomb, in which they discover baths. At this point, the Prince and Farah give into their passions, and fin comfort in the dark situation. When the Prince awakens, however, he finds that Farah has stolen his word and the Dagger, and left him her amulet so he would not be affected by the sands. He fights his way to the higest tower where he discovers Farah overwhelmed by Sand Creatures. Seeing no chance of victory, Farah falls to his death, as the Prince tries in vain to save her. Angered by his lover's death, the Prince drives the Dagger home, and reverses all time to the night before the invasion of the Maharajah's city, and he's still with the Dagger. He goes to Farah and tells her everything, even though she does not remember because of the reversal. The Vizier enters, angered that his treacherous plan might be revealed, and tries to kill the Prince. The Prince becomes the victor, and reminds Farah of who he was by revealing to her one of her memories, which she had told to no one else. It's a pretty good storyline. Rated T for Teen (Violence; Blood; some Suggestive Themes).

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War

This has got to be one of the best games I've ever played. Created by Namco and Project Aces, "Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War," Is truly a game any gamer would enjoy. Set in the year of 2010 (The game came out in 2004), AC5, takes place 15 years after the infamous Belkan War, which took place in the storyline in 1995. The nation of Belka had aggressivley attacked its neighbors Osea and Yuktobania, in an expansionist manner. The war turned against Belka, and Belka face defeat from the combined forces of Osea and Yuktobania. To stave off the advancing enemy, Belka did the unthinkable. The Belkan forcves set off seven nuclear bombs it its major cities. Seeing this tragedy unfold before their very eyes, the advancing nations vowed to throw down their weapons, In the aftermath, South Belka became a protectorate of Osae, though some Belkan citizens remained hostile to Osean occupation. The beginning of the game begins when a training group of Osean pilots fron Sand Island, which is the frontline for Osea and the separating point between Osea and Yuktobania, is attacked by an unidentified enemy squadron. Most of Sand Island's major pilots are killed in the battle, and, consequently, four trainees are put on active duty as "Wardog Squadron." The characters are as follows: You (callsign "Blaze), Kei Nagase (callsign "Edge") who also has an interest in the "Demons of Razgriz" legends, Alvin H. Davenport (callsign "Chopper") who is somewhat brash and talkative, and rookie pilot Hans Grimm (callsign "Archer"). Together, they are all led by Captain Jack Bartlett (callsign "Heartbreak One"), who had earlier seen some of the action during the Belkan War, and had had a relationship with a female Yuktobanian Recon Major, Nastasya Vasilievna Obertas. During Wardog Squadron's second mission, the group comes across a squad of enemy fighters, and Captain Bartlett gets shot down. Though Bartlett bails out of his plane, he is not found and is classified as an MIA. Nagase is then promoted to Squad Leader, but refuses, and insists that Blaze (you) lead the squadron. Yuktobania then declares war on Osea, shattering the peace between the two countries, and leads a massive foward assault on Osean forces. These assaults are in turn thwarted by Wardog Squadron, and Yuktobania withdraws, giving Osea time to plan a counterattack. Osea then leads an attack on the Yuktobanian mainland, hoping to take the capital city of Cinigrad. Wardog Squadron is ordered to fly support missions for the soldiers, and as every mission turns out to be successful, the the reputation of Wardog Squadron increases to where its very prescence boosts the morale of the allied soldiers while striking terror into the hearts of the enemy. Consequently, the Squadron was nicknamed the "Demons of Razgriz," after a successful mission in the northern sea. Soon, Wardog Squadron is charged with attacking civilians on a mission, and the game goes into alternate story lines decided by the flip of a coin. While flying on a mission to protect the people of Osea who had gathered tpo hear the Osean Vice President speak from a Yuktobanian airstrike, Chopper is killed in a ction while defending the people. Later, as the Osean army nears Cinigrad, Wardog Squadron is ambushed by the supposedly allied 8492nd Squadron while they were returning home from a mission. It turns out that the 8492nd Squadron is part of a secret Belkan confederacy known as the "Grey Men." This organization was revenge against both Osea and Yuktobania for their role in Belka's defeat in the war years earlier. The "Grey Men" instigated this new war by posing as Osean and Yuktobanian squadrons and attacked each nation, creating tension between the two. Sonce the war would deplete the two countries' resources, Belka profited by selling weapons produced in it's own factories to both countries. After escaping the 8492nd, Wardog Squadron returns to Sand Island, where they find that the base commander suspects Bartlett of being a Yuktobanian spy. Wardof Squadron is then forced to flee along with Pops, the squadron's mechanic, but are branded traitors as the result. They are pursued, and Captain Marcus Snow (callsign "Swordsman") stages their deaths, and they all find refuge on the Kestrel, one of Osea's best Aircraft Carriers. Snow then joins Wardog Squadron. They soon find out that both Osea and Yuktobania are against the war, and militaristic leaders and officers have seized control of both countries' governments with the help of the "Grey Men." They then learn that both the Osean president, Vincent Harling, and Yuktobania's Prime Minister Nikanor had been removed from power by coup d'etas early in the war. In a stunning turn of events, President Harling has been abducted by the "Grey Men." Both Wardog Squadron and a Marine unit in filtrate Belkan land and recover the President, offering him refuge upon the Kestral. He agrees, and designates Wardog Squadron as a special forces unit under his command, and the unofficial unit is renamed "Razgriz Squadron." Next, they discover that the "Grey Men" had been stockpiling nuclear weapons, which they planned to use against Osea and Yuktobania. Razgriz Squadron is ordered to go in and destroy these weapons, and are aided by an unidentified source. The source turns out to be an anti-war resistane group led by Captain Bartlett. Bartlett had become the first POW of the war, but had escaped. The resistance group had located and rescued Prime Minister Nikanor, and flew him aboard the Kestral. Once on board, Nikanor and Harling stood together in a TV/Radio broadcast in which they revealed the belkan conspiracy, and urged all hostilities to end. The resistance also captured evidence that the "Grey Men" were deveolping a WMD called a "V2" which could destroy the major cities in Osea or Yuktobania. Joined by a combined force of those who had heard Harling and Nikanor's speech, Razgriz Squadron goes a final mission to destroy the V2. Soon after, when the citizens of both countries think the war has ended, Belka tries one last desperate move. They direct the space station "SOLG" to come out of its orbit and back to Earth, right on top of the Osean capital of Oured. Soon after its arrival in the lower atmosphere, Razgriz Squadron destroys the core parts of the station, preventing the destruction of the city of Oured, and all is peace. . .for now. Rated T for Teen (Violence; Mild Language).
